About Us

The Indian Pitch and Putt Association (IPPA) was founded with a clear purpose - to redefine the landscape of golf in India by making it more accessible, inclusive and engaging for all.

In a country where traditional golf is often perceived as exclusive and infrastructure-heavy, Pitch and Putt offers a dynamic, fast-paced and approachable format that opens the game to a much wider audience. Recognizing this opportunity, IPPA was established as the national governing and promotional body dedicated to nurturing and expanding the sport across India.

Our journey is driven by a vision to build a grassroots movement, introducing Pitch and Putt to schools, colleges, communities and emerging sporting hubs. At the same time, we are committed to creating structured pathways for talent development, enabling players to progress from beginners to competitive athletes representing India on international platforms.

IPPA actively works towards :

  • Developing world-class playing opportunities through tournaments and leagues
  • Building a strong ecosystem of coaches, academies, and facilities
  • Forging strategic partnerships with institutions, sponsors, and global bodies
  • Promoting inclusivity, ensuring the sport is accessible across age groups and backgrounds

More than just a governing body, IPPA is a movement to democratize golf in India - breaking barriers, nurturing talent and creating a new generation of players who see golf not as a privilege, but as a possibility.

History of the Association

The Indian Pitch and Putt Association (IPPA) was established with a forward-looking vision, to introduce and structure a modern, accessible format of golf in India that aligns with global trends and growing interest in the sport.

While Pitch and Putt has been steadily gaining popularity across international markets, India remained an untapped landscape with immense potential. Recognizing this opportunity, IPPA was formed to bring the sport into the mainstream and create a structured ecosystem for its growth and development.

A defining milestone in the association’s journey came early, with official recognition from the Federation of International Pitch and Putt Associations (FIPPA), the global governing body for the sport. This recognition, achieved within the initial phase of the association’s formation, positioned IPPA as the official representative of Pitch and Putt in India on the international stage.

In its foundational stage, IPPA has focused on:

  • Establishing governance and structure for the sport in India
  • Building strategic relationships with stakeholders, new developments and partners
  • Creating awareness and interest among players, institutions and communities
  • Laying the groundwork for competitive play and future expansion

Though in its early days, the association carries a clear ambition, to rapidly scale Pitch and Putt across India, making it a sport that is not only accessible but also aspirational.

With international backing, a strong strategic vision, and a commitment to grassroots development, IPPA is poised to become the driving force behind a new era of this format of golf in India.
